Honor the Masculine Yang Energy Forces

In May we honor our maternal mentors and caregivers with Mother’s Day. In June we recognize the positive, masculine influences in our lives. The necessary Yang Energy Forces to balance our more feminine Yin.  Father’s Day began in Washington state in 1910 when a young woman wanted to honor her veteran father, a single parent of 6 children. In 1972 it become a nationwide holiday, 58 years after Mother’s Day was established in 1914.

Your Yoga Formula

Breathe. Move. Connect., your most effective yoga practice sequence formula, whether self-practice or guided. I created this motto, our mantra before we opened with intention on a solid Fusion foundation for positive effects from our services.  For over 11 years I have been teaching a Fundamentals, like a Basics 101 yoga class. Not a gentle or power class, more a mix of all levels and many traditions for a solid yoga

Find the Zen Zone

Distractions are inevitable. Whether good ones or not, there are times when we prefer to be focused. I admit, I am considered quite sensitive and can do better controlling my physical, mental, and emotional responses to all of these potential, unwelcome stimuli. If there’s a “squirrel”, I look. Honestly, some distractions agitate me and take away my attention when needed. I know better than to ever sit near a restaurant

Saluting a Full Flower Moon

I honestly never heard of a Flower Moon which brightened our night skies over the past few days. Native tribes of North America coined the phrase of which the Farmer’s Almanac adopted, as this moon phase signified a time of bloom and for planting. Others believe it is a time of fertility, growth and creation. Same thing I think. A yoga practice that opens up our Sacral (creativity) and Root (grounding)

Mother Earth’s Mothers

Mother Gaia, a mythical goddess through which all are made on earth. She gives us food and water, protects us with just the right resources. She grounds us with magnetic forces, sustains us with her air, plant medicines, and more. Yet, we disconnect from our ancestral mother with neglect and abuse. Sometimes she counteracts our actions with natural forces to nudge us back on track. I honor her today and commit to do

Balance for Memory Health

Balance Asanas are a standard practice in most yoga classes. The transitions and opportunities to find ourselves taking flight on either one leg, one arm or maybe even no legs will challenge our brains. We often focus on body strength, but your brain gets a work out, too! Balancing requires great mental acuity. We must release external and mental distractions, stabilize our energy locks from the ground upward, find a focal point

Eclipse Energy Tool Kit

Reminds me of me, a Starseed galaxy gazer.I was always fascinated by our galaxy and adventures beyond our planet earth. I loved the show, Lost in Space years ago. Spring Time for Bees!

Spring or Vernal Equinox is Wednesday as our sun passes over our earth’s equator creating equal day and night. Sunrise is due east, sunset due west. Our daylight time becomes longer, our weather warms, our plants and flowers flourish and our bees thrive with the hive! Our pollinator bumblebee is necessary for plant life, therapeutic honey production. The vibration of their wings, up to 130 times per second, spreads the pollen

ABC Power for Our Sun

To get our bodies warmed through breath and movement to honor our life-giving Sun, we reviewed a basic Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), also known as a Sun A that included a Sun Breath (Half Sun-Salutation) sequence. It includes a flow sequence of Plank, a backbend like Cobra or Upward Facing Dog, and a Downward Facing Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana).  Here’s two more great Surya Namaskar options, B & C to advance the sequences. I’m a visual learner so maybe
