What Mom Said

Planted this Lily of the Nile in memory of my mom who made me stop on the road in San Diego to dig up a bulb, so I searched years to find this treasure.
Next Sunday is Mother's Day so getting a jumpstart as we think about sending love and gratitude to honor the "moms" in our life. Those that gave us maternal guidance, maybe lessons on how to live, love, and behave whether it was their personal way or carried on through a legacy of moms. I believe they share wisdom learned from experience and to shield us in some way and encourage us to do our own personal best. Thanks Mom.

The past 5 few weeks themes were the Yamas, behaviors to live a good life. They relate to those same words of wisdom below my mom gave me in simple terms.
Ahimsa - Be nice, if it's not nice keep it to yourself. Love and accept yourself, it's what you got.
Satya - It's easier to tell the truth as you'll have a hard time trying to remember your lies. Be true to yourself.
Asteya - Don't take what's not yours. Being on time and paying attention shows respect for others.
Brahmacharya - Don't waste your time and energy. Be productive on things that matter.
Aparigraha - Let it go, if you can't change or predict it, accept it.

So thanks for all the maternal mentors and moms out there who led us on the better paths of life.
Eternally grateful daughter,
Gina Marie
