Sound of Music

Vibration of OM sacred symbol in Sanskrit

Everyone has in some way been affected by the Sound of Music, the arrangement of sound. Some more pleasant, others not so much. Sound is powerfully personal.

I am known to be sensitive. If sound of any kind is too loud, long, or busy, I feel uneasy. Unless I am going dancing, I need the quiet section. Think nail on a chalkboard. Preferring no loud TVs, music, or crowds and I am happy. Music can trigger many emotions. Negative or offensive lyrics bring me down. On the other hand, harmonizing of instruments, voices and positive lyrics elevate my mood. A memory of a song tied to the past can be good, or trigger what we prefer not to recall. Sometimes they are unwanted distractions.

It is scientifically proven that some sounds can be healing for us physically, mentally and emotionally. Reflect on what influences you and choose your sounds carefully. At Fusion we tend to play more instrumental sounds and less lyrics to minimize distractions to facilitate your visit with us to encourage more peacefulness. When we include lyrics, they are more uplifting.

What sounds make you feel good inside? Are they calming, energizing, uplifting, with or without lyrics, a genre of music, specific instrument(s), voices and so on. Sound is vibration, we add frequencies and alter the pitch. Harmonizing with a purpose is usually more pleasant. When we OM our intention is to harmonize with our planet's natural frequency, a primal sound.

We offer a variety of several fantastic sound related events with well trained and experienced musicians. Tonight is our Soulful Sound Journey using various instruments, Friday evening with Yin & Music. Experiment and notice. Sync up with Mother Earth and join us as we OM in class, chant it at home even if no one is listening.

Humming and Harmonizing,
