What I Learned About Me
I learned much about myself over the past 30 days during our Fusion Win for Wellness campaign. I created our Activity plan to commit to more healthy habits during a month in which I slack on my routines. I tracked my progress daily to practice yoga, walk in nature, meditate, read a book, enjoy a Fusion service or donate to a charity. Also refer someone, and write a review is almost a daily activity.
Here's a summer of my Self-study, known as Svadhyaya in yoga philosophy.
1. Distractions need more discipline! Emails, texts, website searches, calls and social media into never-never land take me off track and I still need to better manage my time. Setting time limits and pre-scheduling my day helped.
2. Tracking activities helps. Increased my commitment when I knew I was holding myself accountable to do at least one and able to see progress or lack of.
3. Commit and report to others honestly. Being visible and sharing my weekly updates kept me on my toes.
4. Fulfilled healthy habits feels good. It didn't take much to succeed and motivated me to continue, my tapas. My rewards, mind/body health. I slept better, too.
5. Keep it simple and realistic. If I had good reason (back injury, travel) to not do specific activity, I chose another healthy habit.
6. Do what I love easily, so get least favorite done sooner than later. It was easy to pick favorites; walk in nature, yoga or a facial and massage, I easily did up to 3. Finishing a book took more effort.
7. Time bound. I often start and don't finish tasks at hand (distractions). I need deadlines. 30 days kept me on my toes.
S.M.A.R.T. goals planning works! Specific, Measurable, Action Oriented or Attainable, Relevant or Realistic and Timebound (different versions of popular acronym). Our 30 days of Win For Wellness includes them all.
So taking time to do some self-study (svadhyaya) to become more aware of my healthy habits, or lack of put me back on track with more awareness and commitment to do better. Let's make every month a Wellness Month.

P.S. My donation this month helped break the threshold to $2000 collected from our Fusion Folks for the Susan G. Komen Walk in Boston for Breast Cancer Research fundraiser. See below for update.
Please join me in applauding Coco and Renee (our Thriver Survivor) who completed a 3 day Boston Walk for Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research fundraiser last weekend. 20 miles each day, total of 60 miles! And our beautiful Fusion Community who contributed $2030 to halting this health crisis that affects women predominantly, but also men.
This Walk overall generated over $2 million to their cause! And Renee rang her 1 year bell this month!
In case you didn't know, they met doing yoga! Coco along with Renee's husband and family including Fusion cheered her on through her treatments and more. Coco even cut her long curly locks on our sunset beach celebration after Renee's treatment to support her when she lost her hair. Wow, such a powerful gesture and friendship.
I am so proud of all of you. My heart is happy knowing we are making a difference.
With love and gratitude,
