Tapas Time!

Tapas Time! In Spain this is known as time to have light bites, warm or cold. In yoga philosophy our third Niyama means “heat” in another sense. Our internal heat is needed to purify and detoxify our body and mind and to keep our spirit glowing like a heart warming fire.
Tapas is our drive, our passion, the fire within to be disciplined and get things done that are necessary. With so many distractions and our nature to find the easiest path, sometimes we need to give ourselves just that little push to take on a challenge. The "just do it" factor.
How do we stoke our inner fire and stay motivated? If it’s something I really enjoy, better chances I follow through. Otherwise, not so much. I need to remind myself of my purpose, the results. And get things done early or the distractions win. Social media and technology has it's place only with time boundaries for space to stay productive for our personal purposes. Stay focused as you make it through a journey to the "summit".

Epic summit, Grand Canyon hike required inner fire and focus.
Morning stretches, affirmations, meditation, gentle or brisk walk in nature, a workout, splashing water on your face, a refreshing shower, music, include a partner, or simply make a to-do list and follow through.
S.M.A.R.T. goals are classic and effective:
S - Specific
M - Measurable
A - Attainable
R - Relevant
T - Time Bound
Write down your goals and your plan, then after succeeding in following through, reflect, give yourself a star, and smile. Celebrate, you did it!
