Go Out on a Limb to Get to the Fruit

Last weekend I decided to Go Out on a Limb to Get to the Fruit. Escaping SW Florida heat into the Blue Ridge mountains of western North Carolina to a Power Yoga Summit with Travis Eliott and his wife/partner Lauren Eckstrom of Inner Dimension. I first hesitated knowing it would be super intense, packed with challenging practices for 4 days. But I went for it and my true grit kicked in and cultivated inner courage, bravery, determination, and stamina. I needed focus and patience with the process with no attachment to expectations on the outcome, known as aparigraha in yoga philosophy.

I am typically a yoga student who's never in the front row, preferring to blend in should I fall out of pose or not be able to find it's full expression as it's taught. This time was different as an empty mat in front of the stage was calling me. I took in a deep breath, then planted myself on it. I smiled, thinking "I'm doing this!" I wanted to be a student outside of Fusion's manager role and where I was incognito. No one knows me so who cares what I look like, right?

All this came with rewards. I felt empowered, met new like-minded friends, breathed fresh mountain air into my body, hiked solo through nature trails scouting wildlife like a scavenger hunt, finding peace and solace. I learned from a team of truly authentic yogis with inspiring wisdom and knowledge of yoga, the mind and the body mixed with spirituality. I am truly grateful for my true grit and the tree I envisioned with the rewarding fruit.

I plan to host similar immersions and retreats in wonderful places filled with exploration. Stay tuned and let me know your desired locations and itineraries as I finalize Fusion-On-The-Road Retreats.
