Metamorphosis Magic

Observe and Celebrate
Miracles of Life
I share some similarities with the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly that transforms before my very eyes throughout the year. Their amazing metamorphosis seems surreal. Like a magical, divine force must have created such a magnificent creature. Sometimes I soar through my days like a butterfly, my nature symbol that best describes my Vata Dosha in Ayurvedic philosophy.
Vatas have predominant tendencies with more air and space elements than earth, water and fire elements. So I need grounding and quiet time to get back into balance. I tend to be chilled more easily and require lots of sunlight and heat for warmth and comfort. I do this by feeding my body like the caterpillar feasts on the milkweeds' leaves in the sun, to later retreat and nest like the chrysalis that is spun where they rest to later transform.
Vata is necessary for functions of the body relative to movement and circulation.
Butterfly's Circle of Life
- Butterfly female and male mate
- Eggs left on Milkweed leaf
- Caterpillar hatches and feeds only on Milkweed leaves
- Forms green Chrysalis to blend in, later becoming translucent as butterfly forms
- Butterfly emerges and dries its wings while upside down
- Butterfly enjoys life and meets a mate
- Repeat cycle
All of this natural beauty emerges only because of the Milkweed's cycle of life. Seeds grow in the soil (earth element) with sunlight (fire element), water and air elements. Butterflies land on the plant to lay eggs. You know the rest of the story.

Ah, but there's more...
Bees, like the butterfly, travel through air and space to pollinate the flowers while leaves and roots grow with earth nutrients, sun and water to feed future caterpillars. Later, seed pods are formed that will release wisps of feathery seed clusters that blow in the wind to eventually make landing with soil to call home.
The seeds and plants will then repeat their own Milkweed life cycle. Note, I am also much like a busy bee, another nature symbol for my Vata (air and space elements) tendencies

Allow yourself to simply pause to observe and reflect on the wonders of life. Notice how similar and important some creatures really are to us . Let them guide you on your own journeys for a beautiful and magical life.
I hope you enjoyed the photos of my magnificent winged and crawling creatures, and colorful Milkweed.
If you would like a FREE plant I would be honored to share one or more as I have plenty, and our Monarchs' habitat is shrinking.

Soaring with the wind beneath my wings, the earth below my feet to rest when needed, water to sip when thirsty, and basking in sunlight to keep me warm,
